August 2016 - Dash Core Team Monthly Report

Dear Community members,

It is my pleasure to give you a status report of the Dash Core Team activities. Below, you will find our report covering activities performed through the end of August, grouped by the four strategic areas of focus for 2016.

  1. Software Development

    1. Dash core wallet - version 12.x (lead developer: Evan Duffield (Unlicensed))
      1.  Development of Sentinel and porting current dashd architecture to use Sentinel (as a pre-requisite for Evoluiton)
      2. On-boarding new developers

    3. Dash wallet for Android - updated features (lead developer: @HashEngineering)
      1. Some users continue to report that the app is crashing after sending a transaction. We were not able to replicate the error, but found a temporary solution based on many user reports. The solution is to turn off Wifi/Networking, then reset the blockchain, then turn Wifi/Networking ON.

      2. An update was made to the wallet that is under testing with no negative feedback on the fixes for encrypted sweeping paper wallets or the problem in #1. This update includes updated translations for 8 languages. Testing will continue until the middle of September before it is published to Google Play.

      3. The dashj Java Library was published to a Maven repository at: https://bintray.com/dash/Dashj/org.dashj. The library allows developers to easily import Dash functionality into their Android or Java applications.

      1. Work on acceptance of the Dash wallet in App Store (we were rejected another time)
